This Privacy Policy covers how Scott & Associates Inc. collects, uses and discloses personal information in connection with its provision of various human resources consulting services, as well as how we treat information received via this web site.  Scott & Associates Inc. is committed to ensuring that all personal information handled by us is handled securely, conscientiously and in accordance with applicable privacy law, including Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act ("PIPEDA").

The term "Personal Information" refers to any information that reasonably identifies a specific individual and includes such identifiers as a person's name, e-mail and mailing addresses, age, as well as personal preferences, views and opinions held by that person if they can be linked directly to that person.  Personal Information does not include anonymous or aggregated data.

Scott & Associates Inc. may from time to time be provided with Personal Information collected by our corporate clients for the purposes of providing various human resources consulting services requested by our clients.  Such services may include the evaluation and analysis of data for the purposes of development of policies, programs and procedures for use by our clients in connection with their internal human resources administration.

While Scott & Associates Inc. generally does not collect Personal Information directly from individuals, we ensure that any Personal Information provided to us by our clients is handled with the utmost confidentiality and discretion.  Scott & Associates Inc. enters into contractual arrangements with each client from whom we may receive personal information which require us to adhere to the highest standards of information handling practices and to ensure that the information received is treated according to the terms and conditions under which it was collected.

Scott & Associates Inc. may share Personal Information among its trusted partners solely for the purposes of processing the service requests of our clients.  These affiliates are contractually bound to adhere to stringent privacy protection practices and are required to employ comparable or better protective measures than the assurances provided the individual to whom the Personal Information relates at the time consent was obtained.  Further, the individuals responsible for handling Personal Information are held personally accountable for maintaining the confidentiality of all Personal Information to which they have access.

Please be assured that Scott & Associates Inc. will only use Personal Information that is necessary for the purposes which have been requested by our clients and only in accordance with the consents obtained from the individual at the time of collection.

Marketing & Promotional Purposes
Scott & Associates Inc. maintains a list of its corporate clients and the corresponding business contact information of the individual contacts for each such corporation.  While the bulk of this information is not deemed to be Personal Information, we nonetheless ensure that it is handled in a confidential manner and treated according to our conscientious privacy practices.  Scott & Associates Inc. may, from time to time, use these lists to send information advising our clients of upcoming conferences, events or promotions that may be of interest to them.

Security
Scott & Associates Inc. has established safeguarding measures to uphold the security of Personal Information provided to us, regardless of the format in which it is held.  We have instituted policies and procedures to protect against the unauthorized use, access, disclosure, destruction, loss or theft of any Personal Information.  All electronically-stored or transmitted Personal Information resides on secure servers behind a firewall and database access is carefully monitored and restricted.  All information stored in hard copy format is also access-limited and securely maintained.

When you visit the Scott & Associates Inc. website, our servers log non-identifiable, anonymous and aggregate data gleaned from your computer's web browser.  This information may include your Internet address, the address of the website you are coming from, the amount of time you spend visiting our website, and if you link to us through a search engine, the keywords you used to locate us.  We may this information to analyze trends, administer the site, track the movement of our users, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.  Scott & Associates Inc. never uses this information to identify specific individuals.
